All done with Blender 4.02 for DAZ Studio 4.5+.
More progress! I finished converting the mid and portside pod sections of the Battlestar Pacifica by tan.j, a non-canonical Mark II Jupiter class Battlestar.
As with the aft section, the Pacifica model is lacking the inner armor for all the sections. Since they were already worked on when I worked on the Galactica I just took them from there and placed them on the Pacifica. I did re-UVed them and added a smooth modifier in Blender, as I have with all the sections, so there is no need to smooth out the sections in DAZ Studio using the Angle parameter. Also, I have been leaving the automatic texture tiling out and you can now set the tiling parameters in DAZ Studio. This is better in case a user wants to use their own textures, they can control the tiling.
I hate to see the aft sections of the Pods with no plate armor, so I duplicated the forward plate armor, mirrored it, and placed it on the aft section of the Pod.
I recently learned that the reason the Mark II Jupiter class lacked so much armor was due to lack of resources during the first Cylon war.
Love this! Always wanted to see a proper armored up Jupiter that wasn’t TOO overdone with weapons like Blood & Chrome (though Galactica look mighty!). Hope you keep working on this!
