More progress! I finished converting the mid and portside pod sections of the Battlestar Pacifica by tan.j, a non-canonical Mark II Jupiter class Battlestar.
I finished converting the aft section of the Battlestar Pacifica by tan.j, a non-canonical Mark II Jupiter class Battlestar.
Unlike the Galactica/Ouroboros museum model by tan.j the Pacifica did not come with the inner armor plating for the aft section so I took it off the Galactica model. They are basically the same model.
I restarted the Battlestar for DAZ Studio conversion project.
Since my last posting of the renders of the Battlestar Galactica on Facebook a few weeks ago, I have gotten questions about where I am with the conversion project.
Here's the free 3D model of the Ouroboros/Galactica for DAZ Studio converted from tan.j's Lightwave meshes. This file is in DAZ Installation Manager (DIM) format for easy installation and removal from your runtime.
Since it's not easy to create exhaust in DAZ Studio I just threw these creative engine exhausts together using torus primitive meshes and used the emission material to light them up.
Battlestar Galactica rendered with DAZ Studio's Iray render engine. Showing off some close-up funky camera work that makes her look wider and bulkier than she really is. Like a Pitbull in space! Enjoy!
I was going to be working on the conversion of the damaged versions of the cannons.
I never even got started!
As I was going thru the meshes I noticed that one of the regular cannons that come with the Ouroboros/Galactica V2 Battlestar was of a higher poly mesh than the others.
